So there is a particular program of mine that I'd love to have installed as a 'Windows service' on my desktop. I just don't know how to get it to work...

    Any help?

Can't you drag it into your Startup folder? In the Start menu? Right-click the start menu, Open, go to the Startup folder, and drag it in there.

Or do you mean something else?

Why is that important, Greg? Is the app a security program or the like?

Have you tried using Task Scheduler > Create a basic task

and making it run at login.

This worked for me to bypass the driver check for rmclock x64

I haven't tried anything yet because I'm trying to finalize my settings with the program and test it.

The only problem with running at first log in is that I'd like to just turn the PC on and know that it is there, so my laptop can use it (program on desktop) from far far away. Some days I have to leave for work/class/project and don't have more than a few seconds of time to just hit the PC power button.
