    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows any add in or tool to make Windows Live Messenger (any version of it, or MSN Messenger) run in some sort of "stealth mode".

I mean to disable popups for new chat messages. From the basic config I can disable sound notifications, and the little popup on the lower-right corner, but if a new message arrives, a new chat window is automatically opened.

I want the program to be running but hidden, and then I can choose when to check for new messages, without even noticing its running before that.

I hope I made it clear. Thanks in advance.

If you want a not-time-sensitive way to exchange messages, I would refer you to the Windows Live Mail application.

I want to still use WLM, but make it more safe for work... with less flashing windows and stuff...

I'll look into disabling the blue taskbar flashing for new windows in XP, that might do the trick...

    msgplus.net

It's the best thing that happened to wlm. Once installed scroll through the many options. Notably the 'Features' section under Preferences.

BTW, you can disable 'Alerts' as well from the main messenger options window. Which I believe will do exactly what you're asking. But I think you will like the locking feature that msgplus gives, so still try it out.
