I have an MP3 that I want to edit so it sarts at a certain point so I can use it as a ringtone. Anyone know any good free mp3 editing programs? I have never done this before, so something user friendly is a must. Thanks!

Audacity is another option, provided your phone supports Ogg Vorbis or MP3 ringtones. It's quite easy to shorten - just highlight the part of the song you want (on a bar that shows it visually as time goes by), copy, new, paste, and save. You can also change loudness quite easily. The only tricky part is getting the MP3 save function working - MP3 is proprietory so they have to include it as a plugin rather than natively. But it's not that difficult - just download a single DLL file.

Just used it to shorten a song tonight - took about two minutes including deciding where to cut it off and whether to adjust the volume level. It's pretty intuitive and user-friendly.

I find the "Nero Wave Editor" & "Nero Sound Trax" to work very well when it comes to audio editing.
    But:
Unless you have Nero I too would recommend Audacity - its very, very similar to the Nero Wave Editor.
(Ringtones... generated some myself ages ago for my mobile (now broken) - now I use full songs :D)

Audacity is great, but a little meaty for this. MPTrim is a simple and tiny program that works beautifully for trimming MP3s.
