The MGSysctrl.exe process is the executable that shows the Control Panel for MSI Motherboards.

It is certainly not harmful not to have this application working, it loads up whenever that Windows starts up, but as you pointed out that you have a missing .dll, you may as well reinstall your Chipset Drivers to get it working again.

You could remove the MGSysctrl.exe startup line if you do not want to bother reinstalling the Chipset Drivers and just want to get rid of the notification box at System Startup.

I am having problems with activating the ECO function on this laptop, sometimes the confirmation window shows up when I press "Fn-F10" , sometimes this window doesn't show up.

Could this have something to do with the above ?

Just reisntalling the chipset drivers without removing the MGSysctrl.exe startup line will work ?

Also reinstalling the System control manager ?

I remove this MGS file in the task manager ?

ECO Mode manages the processor's speed frequency automatically, am I right?

It most certainly does, even though the function is activated on the hardware of the chipset itself, it is the software Control Panel that is in charge of sending the order, and also, the command tied to the Fn-Key commands.

Yes, that would work, the installer will replace the missing .dll and the MSI Control Panel should be up and working again.

That is not necessary, reinstalling them will do, you will most likely require to reboot your computer afterward, though.

Eco mode switches off the HDD , only SSD will run

So , reinstalling the chipset drivers AND the System Control Manager ?

    Ah, okay then.

Yeah, that is pretty much it, if everything works after reinstalling the Chipset Drivers reinstalling the latter won't be necessary.

Still doesn't work... I guess, reinstalling windows and the driversis the only solution left

In the beginning this ECO-function worked always

I only installed CCleaner and GlarysUtilities for doing some registry clean-up, maybe it has something to do with that...only have netbook for 3 days

If that is so, do you have any backups that you can roll back to on CCLeaner and Glary?

If you do not, I am afraid that reinstalling the OS and the Drivers is indeed the only solution, tracking what registry files are missing would be much more time consuming than reinstalling.

At least you only got the computer 3 days ago and probably will not have to backup a lot of data, it is a hassle doing so.

What is really funny is that all the 11 other function keys, volume, screen brightness, wireless network, bluetooth,etc... work except the ECO function which is also the most interesting ....must be the law of murphy :)

My guess is that the functions and registry keys tied to the function of the Fn-ECO key may have gone missing in action during cleaning, CCLeaner's Registry Cleaner is a little dangerous and may cause some peril sometimes.

The dependance (the .dll that you mentioned earlier) may have gone missing (Sometimes, CCLeaner mistakes some .dll's as "no longer tied to a program" and puts them into the "To clean" list.

Actually, I was mistaken on one of my earlier posts, the other FN-Keys' are independent from the MSI Software and their functions are hard-wired on the machine, which would explain why the other FN-Keys are working like they should.

Always make backups while using CCLeaner's Registry Cleaner.
