What's a good RSS reader for Windows? I need to be able to group different feeds and have a merged view that shows all the articles from all the feeds in a group. I know there are a bunch of programs out there that will do this... which ones would you recommend?

If you use Firefox, I recommend 2 readers (you choose): NewsFox and Brief. I think NewsFox can group specific feeds too.

Internet Explorer 7 has a basic RSS platform reader. It's Crtl+J in internet explorer.

    IE7 is not worth using.

For FireFox my favorite is the Sage plug-in.

There is also a standalone RSS reader, RSSOwl, that is quite good.

FireFox, of course, has live bookmarks built-in for reading feeds and I believe that ThunderBird also has a built-in feed reader.

Whatever you use, be sure it has OPML import/export capabilities.

GreatNews came highly recommended to me and I extend that recommendation.

I tried GreatNews, but did not like that it would not permit multiple level hierarchies in the feed groupings like Sage and RSSOwl can. When I imported my OPML file it flattened the levels down to a single level and it would not permit me to recreate the multiple levels.

    For example:
    • Camera
      • Canon
        • Canon Press Releases

    Becomes:
    • Camera
    • Canon
      • Canon Press Releases
