    Looking for Intrusion Detection software

    Im looking for intrustion detection software that is not a firewall, I cant seem to find any on the net, it seems what I want it always attched to a firewall and I dont want to always access the router for this info, any info would be much appreciated

    Port scanning would be best handled first by a hardware solution (e.g.: router) followed up if you choose with a second solution (e.g.: software firewall).

    I already have a router that logs the events, I should have worded my question better(my mistake), Im looking for something that will give me an alert such as tray level, without having to go into the router logs all the time
