    Hi,

The XP shutting down time is very long on my laptop.

I see the "windows shutting down" screen for 1min and 5seconds (the HDD led is lighting) [ :(]

I bought this laptop 1 week ago, ive tried with 2 different XP ; some tweak- progs ; safe-mode etc...

There is one more problem with the dialUp connection, always "error 691" I ve read many posts about this and i followed the instructions but i cant connect still.

    What can i do [?] [?] [?]

    Regards, Destfix

To get a faster boot up or shut down time, you can look into some of the tips listed in the hardware section by bootleg2go regarding "How to optimize a notebook computer". It tremendously speed up my boot up and shut down time to under 10 seconds now. Good Luck.

Or if you are happy with the way your laptop runs, use Hibernate instead of Shut Down. With 512 MB memory, Hibernate takes me only about 15 seconds to save, 20 seconds to restart. And it returns you to exactly where you left off.

    First PC = Vic-20, 8" 128KB Home-Brew Floppy Drive ... Current Rig = eMachines m6805 ... Quantum Leap?
