    I'm going to try to simplify this as much as possible:

    I will refer to vista's built-in mouse settings as BIMS
    I will refer to setpoint as setpoint
    Mouse = logitech vx nano

    Trackpad and mouse = perfect speed when BIMS set at highest speed (and setpoint = disabled)
    However, enabling setpoint overrides BIMS and makes mouse = perfect speed, but trackpad = very slow (I cannot adjust them separately, so if I increase speed, the mouse will be way too fast)
    If I disable setpoint, the speed is perfect because it reverts to BIMS, but I cannot use extra functions of mouse, such as volume controls
    Therefore, I want to either be able to use BIMS for speed settings of both trackpad AND mouse, OR to be able to use BIMS only for trackpad and setpoint only for mouse
    Is there a way to either disable ONLY the speed settings in setpoint? If not, is there a way to have BIMS control the trackpad and setpoint to ONLY control the mouse?

    Hope this makes sense, I know it's a bit confusing. Any help is really appreciated!

    thanks for the help! but the problem is that i want to be able to use the volume controls / back+forward buttons on my mouse too.. i just want to see if there's a more convenient way around this problem. the most convenient way right now would be to go into BIMS and change the speed there.. but every time i restart the computer it will go back to default, like it says in that thread

    Yeah, I know about this issue. I solved it for mine just by turning off Setpoint... 'cause my mouse doesn't have a lot of fancy schmancy buttons anyways... but since you want to keep it on... do a search, we've had threads on here before about this problem and maybe someone found a solution, I don't know.

    Oh yeah... do you have touchpad drivers installed?

    Maybe this program could help? X-Mouse Button Control can map different functions to mouse keys, and should not affect your mouse speed.

    I'm using this program with 32-bit Vista. I think I might have had to run it in compatibility mode, but it's working perfectly for me.
