For browsing the internet I normally use (Sorry) Safari. Thing is though that while Safari works fine on my laptop, it beats up my little mini 10. IE7 is no better. I do not want to use Firefox, besides Safari, Mozilla and IE what other browsers are there that are intended to use very little of the systems resources?

All I need it to have is a find function, bookmarks / favorites, home a search bar. Thanks!

Agreed. You can see an obvious change of your RAM usage when open firefox.
Opera might be lesser resources usage I think.

You want K-meleon then. It's Firefox's cousin browser. It's like Firefox but without the bells and whistles. So it loads faster and doesn't use as much ram/cpu.

Because to most people, a minor increase in resource usage is less important than a fully-featured browser.

If you want really, really small and fast, you could always try Lynx. It's a text-based browser, but somehow I think you're probably not willing to make that much of a sacrifice.

Because this browser isn't that aesthetically pleasing. But if you don't care about that, you just want a fast/light browser, then use it.

Just installed K-Melon. Safari is using 101 MB loaded to my homepage and K-melon is using a mere 20 MB. Thank you very much.

    Rep to McGrady!

Although I got frustrated and fed up with it...

Opera may be worth a think...

(it wasn't closing properly on my laptop)

What about IE8? Doesn't it use less resources than IE7?

IE8 can be rather "RAM heavy" but apart from that I'd say it is - at least on an older laptop the key problem with IE8 is RAM.

IE8 is "Ram Heavy", but "HDD light" and "CPU light".
LOL.. thus in most situations where Ram is plenty, IE8 will run faster.

Yes, the question is is RAM plenty on the OP's case.

Looking at the OP's sig - 1GB and XP, it should possibly work.

Not many ppl mentioned Chrome o.o

I've had it opened since morning and there hasn't been any mem leaks at all. Cruised at a comfy 26mb.
