Keepass Add Entry Cannot Close... Cannot View Passwords

I use keepass2. I haven't updated it in a while because i read that doing so might cause issues. Im not sure exactly what keepass version i have at the moment. I have this issue where when i open keepass after putting in the masterkee password, that when i left click or right click on any of my username/password, it would automatically open up the add entry. When i try to X it out, it does not X out. Basically i cannot check for any of my passwords. I then control alt delete and close the program. Then i put in masterpassword again and it opens up. Its opened and i see the passwords thats show on general. I have other tabs like email, banking etc. I can click on all of these tabs. The issue comes the moment i click on one of the titles. I get the popup that shows one of my accounts but its the first one thats on the general etc


I then control alt delete and close keepass again. Now i would then go to one of the title that i want the password to. I then right click and it has the same popup again with the username/password for the first line... i close it and it does allow me to right click, copy password for the account i want to check... i then paste it on word etc so i could know what it is exactly. Once this happens, i get that same line for username/pass add entry popup. I cannot close it with the X.


Can someone tell me how i can fix this issue? Does it have to do with not updating keepass? Is there a way to find out which keepass version im using? The thing is all my passwords i kept it in keepass on my laptop. I do have a copy of it in my usb as well... but the issue is i assume if i open that file up, it would have the same issue? I didnt update keepass yet because i dont want to update it and then it has more problems. Can someone tell me how i can fix this issue?


i like to also add when i type in shift when i try to capitalize a letter etc... it would keep pasting on a line etc. could this be related i cant even type in the shift btton because doing so would copy and paste right here. example if i copied and pasted the word george then when i press shift, it would type george... if i press it again it would go georgegeorge 2x. i read online that this could because of the insert button but i pressed it and it doesnt do anything at all. im guessing this could be related to the keepass issue i cant even type question mark because this requires me presing shift. and now i cannot access my passwords at all. well i could sort of with 1 at a time but its not 100 percent because of that add entry popup. and many of my passwords are capital letters so how can i even type in my password since i have the shift issue

 

What version are you talking about? I use the lastest installed keepass and portable keepass and have no problem close and exiting the software.

 

how can i tell what version im using? The thing is i use to always get the update keepass everytime message. But when i had this, i don't seem to get that message anymore.


I think im on 2.26? I dont recall but basically i haven't updated it ever.
