    Kaspersky on W7 not working

    ok, so It isn't working.

    Apparently there is a driver being blocked, that will "stop windows from opening properly in the future" and its telling me to buy the new Kasper to fix this problem...

    is this a known problem? what should/can i do?

    Well officially Kaspersky only supports Windows 7 since build 9.0.0.736 which came out pretty recently.

    If you have a valid (still active) license you could upgrade to that build.

    Unstal your old version manually anf then instal the new version followed by a full scan by the way.

    On Vista that upgrade had to be "redone"...

    I ran the trial version 9.0.0.463 with W7 pro, it was working well, then upgraded to 9.0.0.736 just today per an update message. It also works well.

    One comment I have about KIS in general (including 2010) is that I find when the updates are set to default (auto) it seems that it wants to search for updates quite often when I turn on the PC. I don't think it is necessary to check that often and eat up resources every boot or restart, so I set the updates for once daily.

    Well, version 2009 also searched for updates every time you started your computer :) And Kis will release updates every 3 hours if they fid viruses that fast - or something close to that - so you may get several updats in one day.

    Regarding the lastest build...
    I've quoted myself fromthe Random Thread - but that's Vista Based.

    i got this, even after reinstalling:

    "Driver blocked due to incompatibility

    A driver is installed thatt causes stability problems with your system. this driver will be disabled. please contact the driver manufacturer for an update that is compatible with this version of windows"

    then it tells me to download 2010. Even after updating to a new version, i still get this error.

    Yeah, you should be using KIS 2010.

    I haven't tried to get KIS 2009 to work on Win 7 yet.
