    Hi,

I was watching a movie in media center in my desktop then suddenly a message from kaspersky 7.0 popuped stating the the anti-virus will no longer work because the there are files damaged, then the computer became very slow, so I moved to my laptop to continue the movie... and then at startup I get the same message but the difference is that my laptop has version 6.0 while my desktop has 7.0.... I tried restarting several times hoping it would get faster... then I succeeded in uninstalling kaspersky 6.0 from my laptop plus whiping the whole registery with name "kaspersky" and "avp"... but now I am stuck with my desktop.. 7.0 just wont uninstall... it says the program may have been uninstalled already, but its still there in the taskbar plus the computer is very very slow.... like 5 mins just to view the startmenu, I tried running msconfig to disable kaspersky from running at startup but no use the msconfig just wont comeup!!! plz any help to get rid of this crappy anti-virus, its killing my computers!!!

and btw i have vista ultimate on both computers...

    Have you tried safe mode?

You might have to manually remove the files and clean out the registry.

I'm glad that worked, but sorry, I haven't used Kaspersky enough to have any real problems. I think most antiviruses are getting more flakey, though.

AVG is, hands down, the best anti-virus program available.
