    Hi,

I just did clean install of Win7Pro x64 EN on my nb and my Japanese specific keys stopped working. Even though I have installed the Japanese keyboard and MS IME, the switch for writing in kanji doesn't work. Also the characters, which are written with pressed Shift (^&*$) are different...

    Any help?

    Thank you,
    eM.

Just passing by. Did you change the driver used by your keyboard ? It seems to me your keyboard is just behaving like a western keyboard, without the specific japanese keys. To go back to the normal japanese keys, you need to use the specific japanese driver. You can select it in the device manager :)

Yep exactly, that was the problem. I didn't know, windows wouldn't recognize the keyboard layout, so I was on standard western keyboard in device manager. Another user already told me so and the problem is solved.
