I have about 4800 songs on my computer and for some reason itunes will not find them all. i drag and drop them, do a file import, nothings works! and it just finds about 4100 of the songs? Awhile ago i reformated my computer and backed up all my songs but it seems as if the itunes cant find them because they are "hidden" or something.

I also have a zune software and that finds ALL my songs. What could be the problem? and what can i do to fix this?

    thanks

Are some of those songs in WMA or WMA protected formats? Itunes will usually ask you whether or not you want it (itunes) to convert WMA files for you. But WMA protected will not show up.

no they are all in mp3. It's so weird because before I reformated my computer itunes found them all but once i reformated it can't find like 700 of the songs? It doesn't make sense.

I don't use iTunes for this reason. It has to do with the fact it will not read or recognize mp3's that are variable bitrate. Any mp3's that don't have a static bitrate won't work with iTunes.
