The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Is this Bloatware?

    hello, i wanted to check with knowledgeable people before i start deleting things...

    i wanted to clear my comp of things i dont use and was wonder if "Online Services" in Program files was a bloatware... it has folders with Aolca, juno, vonage, earthlink, ebay... delete that folder?

    Delete it if you're not intending to use any of the junk services offered.

    As BMW said delete them if your not using them as your ISP. They are indeed bloatware.

    I'd first try to remove it in the control panel ("Programs and Features"). If you can't find the right entry in there (or if there isn't one) to remove, then go ahead and delete them from the Program Files folder if you want.

    That directory is independent of the Add/Remove so it's safe to delete. You can also delete the directories that has those services.
