You can probably just use Nero to copy from DVD to DVD. If I were you, I'd use vlite and make a back-up copy that way.

It let's you make a custom Vista install disc. So you can put in your serial number and add drivers and such. It's really customizable as much as you feel comfortable with it. But it would let you create your own .iso for burning.

What all do you need for it?

My machine is being made right now

Sorry for the double post but what exactly are the benefits of using Vlite as opposed to just doing a fresh install of Vista off the Anytime Upgrade disk?

I was just giving you the easiest (IMO) option to create a backup DVD which is what you wanted per your first post. Yes you can make it from the Anytime Upgrade DVD. You can just create a straight copy of the DVD, there is no protection scheme.

I was just trying to understand what advantages vlite gives you over just installing vista off the Anytime Upgrade disk.

Also I wanted to know what you need to make a disk using Vlite. Does it require Vista to be installed or a DVD containing the vista install ?

I had already told you what the advantages were. And they are also on the site I posted, please refer to those. You can use either the install DVD or the Vista install on your computer.

Wait... I can use the bloat ware factory version of vista on my laptop to make a pure vista(no bloat or HP programs) install disk with vlite? I didn't have to buy this Anytime Upgrade Disk?

Why DVD did you buy? To go from Home Premium to Ultimate? But no you don't need it, you can create your own crap free install disc. That is what I was getting at with my earlier posts.

I bought the "Anytime Upgrade Vista" CD

I was told it had all versions of vista on it. I want a clean install without HP bloatware. They didn't give me a windows CD, they only gave me a partition with HP bloatware version of windows. If i do a restore it goes to manufacture settings with all the blaot, which I don't want.

I was told I had to buy a CD to do a fresh windows install.

Now you are telling me vlite could make a bloat free disk out of my computers bloated install of vista install?!?!
