    Sick of this.

Just burned 3 divx to a Sony DVD-R disk. The disk works just fine. BTW I was using DEEPBURNER.

Tried burning another disk, with 3 divx as well, now the DVD-R doesn't even recognize it was burnt!

I used PowerXpDvD or whatever its name was (failed to burn properly). Apparently DEEPBURNER is also a piece of crap.

    or maybe its my drive?

I want Nero. But I don't want to pay for it. Suggestions?

www.videohelp.com has a limited supply of burn software.

You can get a cheap OEM copy of Nero on eBay for like $10 or less. You might want to consider some different discs. Taiyo Yudens are the best. Verbatims are usually a good second choice.

Some burners are better than others. If you have a Matsh!ta burner then this is one of the others. I once had a Sony notebook with one of those and it couldn't burn Sony branded DVDs.

You may be able to find media which your burner likes. Look in places such as rpc1.org. Taiyo Yuden is often recommended. DVD Identifier will tell you the details of media you are using.

One way to get Nero is an OEM version which you can buy provided you buy some hardware (not necessarily an optical drive). You can also download Nero and use it in evaluation mode (1 month?) to help you sort out if your problem is hardware, software or media.
