    Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me what is the main deference between IE and Mozilla Firefox ? I have been using IE (version 6.0) for one year but from now on I have decided to use Firefox. I just want to know as to what Mozilla can do which Internet Explorer can not.
    Thanks!

direct answer to ur thread's title = jein, yes-no may be so, oui qu'a non ...
. it is a good browser, like many others out there
. for many users, like urself, IE6 (or any current used browser) would do just fine - if u have no other needs arise
. it is fun and educative to try different browsers and decide for urself, again, depending on ur surfing needs. Or just to explore about
. bottom line, for any browsers, u like it, u use it, it fits u, it is the best

    cheers ...

    Firstly...Welcome to NBR :)

One of the main feature of FF is its add-ons...there are many many useful add-ons available such as Adblock Plus, as the name suggest it blocks out flash adds in sites and other things you dont want.

Restoring (dunno what to call it) is also very useful...is FF crashes or something, the next time you open it up you will be asked whether you want to restore the tabs of our previous session :) FF is also more secure overall I think.

Honestly only some of the addons are really good for FF.... But many of the features obtained using addons are already part of the stock Opera.... And the restoring tab feature is present in Opera as well..... Try exploring many browsers and see what fits you best.... If you ask me one nifty feature of Opera is able to open a closed tab by pressing Ctrl + Z or you can also choose from a list of recently closed tabs too.... Many more trendy features in Opera if you ask me compared to FF.....

Firefox is much easier to configure in my opinion.

Whichever browser you use though, don't be a horrible fanboy :D

i think opera is the best. firefox is too bland and some of the featues u get from add ons are built into opera from the start

I use both actually. Explorer 6 and 7 are fine but have a flaw in which some software tends make itself too much at home in it and even install stuff on your PC without your knowledge by just visiting a site.

I like Firefox because of its customizable nature. But I really like Opera most of them all because it has script blocking, I like the interface (was the first with tabbed browsing also) and like Firefox it doesn't allow certain software on certain websites feel too much at home on your PC.

On Macs I currently hate Safari because it is too buggy at this time and tends to crash on certain websites. I install Opera or Firefox instead.

Firefox is easy to get your family to move over (I have) because it is very similar to IE...It's more secure than IE but as more people use it, more people target it.

Personally I use Opera, there are some incompatibilities with certain sites, but I perfer the UI and the speedial (Yes, I know you can get firefox speed dial). It's more secure too because less people use it...

I wouldn't say best because some fanboys *ehem* of other browsers might get mad :p

But yeah I'd say it's the best one for me. Actually, not Firefox itself, but Firefox + some extensions :p

Also Opera confines more to the W3C standards than FF or IE.... Also while opening XML files FF does not support dtd validation unile IE and Opera.....

It's really just a matter of opinion. Try out FF and Opera and decide which you like best or any other browser for that matter. For I still like FF the best, but use IE and Opera from time to time.

On FF 3 Beta 2 you can also leave out the ''www.'' in the url.
It makes it all easier. Plus FF 3 Beta 2 uses a lot less memory.

If you really want to truly know what one can do that the other can't you should just try them both out for yourself. Otherwise all you're gonna get is a thread full of opinions. You'll get no absolute answers unless you check it out for yourself.
