I have Intervideo Windvd 4 on my computer and every time I try to play a dvd it freezes the computer. Has this happened to anyone else and what have you done to fix the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a reinstall? You may want to see if there is an update, also. I found Intervideo to be too grainy on the Hp DV1000.

Windows Media Player and RealPlayer can both play DVDs and are free if you can live with the fact they both are annoying.

I've been using win dvd 4 for a while, and its been working fine for me, I actually prefer nVidia's dvd player the best (offered best 5.1 surround sound support for me) you can try using that one and see how it works for you, and if you like it you can then acquire a liscene for it.

Right now I'm using Windows Media Player and it's not exactly the best player in the world. I've also tried software reinstall but that didn't work too well either. Thanks for all the responses everyone.
