Firefox is faster than IE, but not by much in 2.0. In version 3.0, you will see a massive difference. I like Opera a little but i like Adblock+, and the default theme for Firefox is better IMO. Now remember, i said that, but i don't want this turning into a browser wars thread. If it becomes that, i'll need to get the thread closed. Back onto IE though, I want to try out this beta, too bad it's closed.

FF is not faster at all... it is slower due to the memory issues.

    But that is life....

Arguing about FF 3 being faster than IE 7 is like saying IE 8 is faster than FF 2. :D

Yea, you FF nuts kill me. Bringing up FF in an IE thread....

And calvin, get off the "I'll get the thread closed." Was funny though....

Gee, don't post remarks to get it closed.

If you didn't notice, i say things without bias. I like to follow my self made "Upgrade claus". Which is:
With that being said, FF 2 has tons of memory leaks, you know how high my ram usage used to be? Like 200k something when doing simple web browsing. Even now, in the FF3 beta 3, Firefox is still using more memory than what Opera and IE might be using. Also, i'm not arguing that FF3 is faster than IE7. I'm saying it is faster. And you know what, if IE8 is faster than FF2, i'll be glad. It'll show that IE has improved. Also, anymore snide remarks like that and i'll report you. ;)

I don't really understand how FF can be faster? Or how any browser could be faster than another?

I've been using IE7 since before Vista, and I've never had any problems with it being slow or whatever.

FF is good, I'll give it that...I just prefer IE.

    Haha, good point.

Honestly, and please don't take any offense to this...

What has shyed me away has been FF fanboys that do nothing but trash IE and say how much better it is then IE and how dumb I must be for still using it.

I am not offended in anyways, just point out that:
It is really YOUR Loss! Think about it this way...
Let's say FF is truely more efficient due to extensions, for the sake of the argument, you are missing out simply because someone said something that provokes you, or you just wanted to be "different". Why should you sacrifice just to be different?..a smart person would use it regardless of what others' perceptions are. Kind of like during a competition or gaming, when you find a short-cut (efficient strategies) and people said you are cheating and being cheap....blah blah blah.

I usually ignore them in games and remains "Cheap", it's my efficient strategy and I am gonna use it. :D :D

Anyway, I understand what you are saying... and I understand the memory issues... and I understand why the FF guys like to take on IE... no biggie... I understand.

    Must be hard.

I only half understood that. But dude, just try this. Tell them to try FF, and if they don't want to, let them be. It's their choice. Don't go bending their arms trying to get them to use something they don't like.

Actually, about the only thing I like about IE is the "true type" fonts included with the browser. Makes reading text much more enjoyable.

Everything else with the two browsers are about the same (ie 7 vs. ff). Well, I don't use addons after they died when I updated ff a long time ago....

FF is a nice browser... I kid around with the kids, but it does not matter one over the other... both are good, IMO. Opera is good as well....

First, lemme set you straight. If this thread gets out of handle, i need to report it before one of you decides to start bypassing the curse filter and get infractions. Your comments in that post weren't as nice as pancakes, so i gave you a warning.

Onto the browser talk, yeah, the memory issues are kinda hard to deal with if you have 512mb of ram. But even me, well equipped with 2GB gets kinda mad when i see Firefox gobbling up 200k. IE is integrated into the system so it kinda cheats, but no problem, whatever you gotta do to win.

Getting into the IE talk, i like the integration into aero, I hope they advance upon that in IE8, like make the whole windows transparent. That would be cool. Although that may be a little much for DWM, maybe as an option for some users?

Half understood? which part do you not understand? :D
I am not trying to "bend their arm", I meant it to be a IMO kind of thing: I just thought it is [Cross out]stupid[/Cross out] "Not very efficient", to use something that is not as good. If there's something better use that instead.

    @Matt is pro.
I see, well I got nothing against that. :)

And I'm sure the same goes for the FF users who are told they're "missing out."
