    Hi guys,
Lately IE randomly quits with message" Internet Explores has stopped working" then restarts on it`s own. Any one know whats causing this or how to fix it?
    Thanks

You should really use Firefox instead, and also, if that works fine, you'll know the problem is something with IE, and not a deeper problem. Could be some malware, or who knows what. What version? Thanks. ;)

Same here...I had the same probs with IE...and ran some app's like SAS, RevoUninstaller... to clean up the *creepy crawlys*, and then switched over to FF.

Everytime, I opened up ImageShack in IE...I had AdPopUps dancing all over my screen. Sometimes, FF does act odd...but that's when I get the lovely 404's errors.

    Cin ;) :)

One thing mentioned before - yes, scan for malware.

    But the error reports.
Do you get an error report? Check up on that, send it to MS if its Vista and see if they can help.

Also, FF hmm... I switched to Opera from FF and prefer it...
But IE7 is useful as I can forget passwords - I just need my fingerprint :D

    Take your pick

Check your event logs to see what, if anything, has been logged for the random quits, and particularly for the automatic starts. Also, as has been said before, a good thorough malware scan is also in order.

Does the same thing happen when you try to launch IE without add-ons?

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
    add-ons).

    Try this

go to Tools\Manage Addons\Enable or disable addons

then disable all the addons except the java and shockwave plugins which is needed by IE. then restart your IE, now it wont quit. :)

    hope it helps :)

Just one point - I think the OP is currently getting overwhelmed with suggestions - it would be an idea to wait for an update from him/her.
