I just was checking on some statistics of my website and noticed something interesting to me. Turns out that Firefox has a slight edge on IE in terms of popularity this month!

The browser stats for my sites tend to show around 60-65% IE, 25-30% FF, 2-5% for Opera and Safira and then the rest spread out across Mozilla, Netscape, Playstation 3, and assorted others.
Those numbers have been relatively steady (minus the PS3 :)) for the last couple of years - with perhaps around a 5% average gain for FF and a similar loss for IE.

I just did a check on some of my older inactive sites that are still getting steady traffic - turned out I had one where IE and FF were almost at a tie for the last few months.

As a long time Opera fan I obviously think it stinks that the best browser has been hovering around at a measly 2-5% for years :p, but I guess it's too late to turn around the huge failures of the Opera marketing department (do they even have one? :)), so as long as they keep up development I'll try to be satisfied with that.
