I am using Intel Core 2 duo processor. My question is, whenever i run my application i would like to know whether my software is using both the processors or a single processor. How do i know it? Is there any way to see that? If it is using single processor, how to make use of both the processors? Please help me out. I need this to improve my software performance.

The simplest way I know if if the program can actually eat an entire core by itself, opening up task manager and checking processes, you should see the associated process around, but not more than 50%. If it's a Multi-threaded app, it will use more than 50.

Pretty sure your software will use both threads if it's able to work multi-threaded.
If the program is single threaded all you can do is buy newer software. (Unless there is a component you can update)

If you have a problem with a program's performance - maybe try listing the program here? You can't force a single threaded application to run on two cores...
