Does anyone have (or know where) I can get a version 2-3 steps back ?
7.40.26 is the current version I have and it no longer allows me to do anything.
EVERYTHING is now grayed out and I cannot change 1 single setting.
I was enjoying a nice -.100 undervolt and I can no longer do that.
Stupid me downloaded the new version and updated it w/o saving the old version.
    Intel....go figger.
You'd think they would want you to be able to tweak stuff since amd is whooping on them so bad right now.

Never mind....found a copy of 6.5.2.38 and all is well now.
Maybe let this thread stand so everyone knows the new version blocks people from doing what they want to what they own.
Really not feeling the intel love right now.

It tends to be different for different CPUs. I would recommend using Throttlestop as XTU is hit or miss.

and you have XTU INFERENCE turned on in BIOS ???
some new ME DRIVER or ME FW / BIOS / XTU is locked for plundervolt FIX

still best is BIOS setting only
or Throttlestop ,.,.still works good ;)

    edit
it also has a lot of broken versions of XTU "last working is X86 version 6.5-x"
all new is impossible correct install "without some absurd steps" for repair connection on bios

exist two type connections ,,.,emulation / native
x64 version -- is all time in SysWOW64 "impossible full update / uninstall now"
or a change of mode ,.,.,.broken SW !

    carefully with uninstall
    create a restore point
and XTU service - still exist in SysWOW64
manual remove or try compatibility / vs OLD XTU 6.5

I don't even know where to go with this post.
IF you even read the OP (original post) you would know that XTU was working fine and only after upgrading did it fail.
Why the crud about enabling something in BIOS or the crud about a ME driver ??? if that was the issue it wouldn't have worked in the first place would it ?
IF you had read my post you *might* have also seen my laptop model listed in the Sig line...if not, look at the bottom of this post, it will be there too.
I won't run some fluffy Dell or Alienware, I'm running a builder Clevo so you *might* safely assume I'm not a newb.
BTW, I'll ignore the whole restore point comment, restore is for newbs that don't understand backups and haven't a care about diskspace on the primary C drive.

XTU - native mode still works on new models / plundervolt fix
XTU - emulation not works on last version ! / new CPU "new cpu + new ME FW - plundervolt fix "

XTU inference difference On/OFF is difference in access
NATIVE have more option + all save directly in bios "need restart" EMULATION is loaded POST-boot

a huge problem is to switch the mode currently
most time this need reinstall ,..,,.but now is impossible full uninstall XTU / reinstall under new setting for repair connection !

use TS or BIOS or repair XTU
7.40.26 --works fine ,,but need small help ;)
,,.best way is BIOS only !!

    You're assuming lots.....like I'm running YOUR laptop.
I'm not running YOUR laptop, so please.....
Not 1 thing in your posts is relevant to MY laptop.
