No, the Core Duo processor does not have 64-bit support. Now the upcoming Merom will have EM64T for 64-bit processing.

    ok.

    another question here.
I was considering upgrading my laptop in the next 1-2 years.
If i want to upgrade to merom, the latop will most likely have to change the motherboard as well right?
    Would this cost alot?
Would it cost so much that i might as well buy a merom laptop?

Not necessarily. Some laptops can be upgraded to Merom using a simple BIOS update, no changing mobos required. Now you need to confirm for the P50.

Changing mobos isn't possible unless Samsung released an exact P50 with merom in it.

    ok.

you mean bios update for the mobo right?
Im pretty sure the mobo in my laptop is from intel.
so most likely i dont have to buy a new mobo right?

No you wont, just keep an eye on Samsungs update page and hopefully they will release a BIOS update that adds merom compatibiltiy.

Most likely somewhere like tigerdirect or newegg. Also, you need to make sure you have a socketed CPU, not soldered. If it is soldered in, no dice. The other problem I forsee is in pricing. As a part is phased out and becomes hard to find it's price can start to rise, making the upgrade not feasible.

Looks like it is. Usually they will include some version notes that tell you what they changed. If you can't find that, there are surely others who have and have posted somewhere about it, so do a google search.
