    Thanks!!

Why don't you install the original Windows XP without slipstreaming drivers? Does that BSoD too? I'm guessing the BSoDs have something to do with the drivers that you're slipstreaming (possible conflicting drivers).

My best advice is to ONLY slipstream the chipset drivers onto the disc so that Windows XP Installation can recognize the SATA drives. You can install all the drivers after Windows XP is completely installed.

This notebook comes with VISTA, installing the original XP cd is impossible because it doesn't have the needed drivers to mount and install, so I need to include them with nLite make a new CD and then it works, I can install XP but after the copying of files and registering blah blah blah I get this BSOD :-(

It'd be hard to catch, but maybe you could see the stop code (look at the left hand side, about 5 rows down you will see something like 0x00000001) and the file that is triggering it. It would tell you where to start looking at least. Sometimes I've ended up taking a video since automatic restart is enabled on fresh installs when there's no way around it and on new machines it's often way too fast to see.

To avoid slipstreaming, if you don't have some sort of compatibility mode for your SATA controller in the BIOS, which would be one way of getting the windows installer to see your hard disk, it's possible to use a USB floppy drive to load the necessary drivers with F6 at the beginning of the windows installation process.

You sure you got the right SATA drivers?

If you must slip stream then only put SATA drivers; nothing else. As ALLurGroceries said, you can also load the drivers from an external USB device at the install time.

It looks like it's the PM965 with the ICH8M, so that would be in the in the INF files extracted (with a utility) from the Intel F6 Floppy installer .exe

Thanks all for the help, but I think it is hopeless...somebody familiar wih VIRTUAL SERVER 2007? could that be the solution pls???

btw I'm almost sure I had used the correct drivers, there is no option to switch IDE / RAID in BIOS :(

error code: 0x00000007B (0XBACCF524,0xC0000034,0x000000000,0x000000000) guess its someting with the SATA drives.

    0x0000007B: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

It's a problem with your SATA controller drivers, at least you can narrow it down to that. Try the F6 floppy perhaps, need a USB floppy drive.

Virtual Server runs on top of Windows (it's a virtualization environment), so that's not going to help you in this case :(
