    Hi,

I bought a notebook without OS and I bought windows 8 (system builder edition) seperately. Is it possible to install iWin 8 without embedding the key in the bios?

I want to be able to return the notebook, in case I don't like it, but if the key is embedded I might not be able to return it.

I read some stuff about installing in legacy mode and disabling secure boot, but I don't know if that prevents the key to be embedded,

They key for the windows copy you have will not embed in the BIOS. Embedded keys are for OEMs that load Windows 8 on the machine.

Thank you for your reply. Does this also apply if I install it in UEFI mode and with secure boot or do I have to chose legacy mode/ switch off secure boot?
