I get alot of display errors cause im in compatibility mode. if I hit F12 and change it to normal Internet explorer 8 or 9 I get everything functioning right on the sites. but after i close my browser and open it back up it automatically sets back to compatibility mode. how do I set my browser mode Default to IE9 so it doesnt change back every time.

Was having some other page crashing issues to with IE9, so i Downgraded back to IE8. with IE8 the pages dont crashe but it still sets the browser mode to compatibility mode just like in IE9.

ive updated and uninstalled numerous times from 8 to 9 and still get a page crash every now and then with 9.

Any luck if you press Alt and poke around in compatibility view settings? Also, there's an "Automatically recover from page layout errors with compatibility view" option in the Advanced tab in Internet Explorer options.

the likely answer: use chrome/firefox/opera/not IE.

I hear that, have you tried creating a new user account, and logging in with it for testing IE?

Did you try untick that? Also, there's another option "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" that might affect you.

its not just the work site. its every site. even this one, when i hit reply just now the page was blank cause it was set back to compatibility mode. if i just select IE9 everything is ok. but every time i make a new page it defaults back to Compatibility mode and its causing display issues on alot of sites. there has to be a default selection option somewhere.
