    Hey guys!

I have been using vista for a few months now, and until now everything has has going beautifully!

However, after resuming from standby I reset my computer because it sort of got stuck.

After I logged on and saw my desktop (all okay so far) the vista "installing driver" notifier thingy popped up and it seemed to be reinstalling ALL of my drivers, from PCI drivers to network drivers...
Of course I couldnt install all, so now Im stuck with using linux.

Im just wondering what the cause of this could be, if other people have had similar problems, how I can avoid it into the future and if there is any deeper meaning behind this that I should be aware of?

    Thanks in advance :)

Hmm weird, if you have System Restore on, restore back to a previous restore point and see if that works.

You will need to get your drivers and reinstall them unless you have backups to use. It sounds like something got corrupted, you may want to scan your disk for errors.

It could have been due to the abnormal shut down. Usually they don't cause many problems, but it does happen. Or if you recently installed Linux you could have tweaked the MBR. Good to know you are back in business.
