    I really don't understand what's happening.

Alright... I have done nearly everything I've found. I even did that Vista ISO Image stuff people suggested to (I have my OWN product/license key) do. Still, my computer replies with "BOOTMGR IS MISSING. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart."

But when I get to the "Repair your Computer" option, there are no OSes to choose from. My notebook was pre-installed with Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

When I try to continue without choosing an OS, onto the Startup Repair function, on a detail, it says:

    Root cause found:
    --------------------------
Boot manger is missing or corrupt.

    Repair action: File repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x15
    Time taken = 0 ms

...so yeah. That didn't work. Typing bootrec /fixboot on Command Prompt says it fixes the thing, but it doesn't. Trying to install Vista gets the message "install.wim cannot be found" (or something like that).

But the weird thing is when I look at the directories of the C drive and D drive (using command prompt). The C Drive is COMPLETELY empty except for 2 folders with nothing in them anyways (one is temp, the other... I don't remember). Yet, in the D Drive, I SEE "boot" AND "bootmgr", so that just confuses me even more.

In the process of boot up, the F11 key does not respond into a system recovery state anymore. If I use the recovery discs, it replies with "This PC is not supported by the System Recovery Disc".

Anyone mind helping? I'm really not in the state of being able to buy another notebook.

    It didn't come with it.

And pixel, how would I reformat in this state? o_o

Edit: Yeah, whenever I try to press "Install Windows Vista" like this reformatting guide tells me to, I enter the product key and... it says:

"Windows cannot open the required file E:\Sources\Install.wim. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002"

And apparently I can't open up my notebook's recovery partition, so that's gone.

So are you trying to have two OS systems or just Vista?
