This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    PDF Creator allows you to save a pdf from any program that can print.

    You can also use Ghost Script to make a free PDF printer. I tend to like open source solutions better as I've seen too much spyware, adware and crapware in "free" software elsewhere.

    Uhh, there's a PDF writer built into Word... You don't need to buy or download anything.

    No, it's not built in to any version, even 2007. It is a plugin that is available, I believe, but I found that files made by this Word 2007 plugin were larger than, say, OoO Writer's PDF creator.

    Actually, if you have Office 2007, I find that the plug-in work quite well. It was relatively easy to use and didn't require any additional software.
