I keep looking for it, but I can only find a 16bit installer (which doesn't work for me at work...they don't allow 16bit apps anymore). So where's the 32bit version???

and I just tested with the "filetype" tool in Win32 Console Toolbox

This page claims its 32 bit Gregory. FYI in the past when I tried Gimp (and promptly uninstalled as I was a n00b - still am, back then), I think I used the 16bit version :p

Ummm...oops. Didn't install the GTK first... :( Thanks!

Fascinating program...how does GIMP compare to something like Photoshop?

    In general:

GIMP: Harder to understand the UI (but better IMHO, since it's a true multi-window app, rather than Photoshop's annoying as heck MDI), but it has 110% of the functions most users will use, and it's free (and updated about every 2 weeks)
Photoshop: Easier interface initially, and much more power for the professional image editor. But it's expensive, and isn't updated very often, even for compatibility fixes.
