    HI all,

I have HP-Pavillion DV5-1104TX laptop which i ordered from HP few weeks back.It was working fine untill 2 weeks and now it is very slow to start up.Actually it takes nearly 5 minutes to get in to full speed after it is booted to vista. (I have windows Vista Home Premium-32bit).

It stucks for several minutes after loading windows and i can't do nothing.however after 5 minutes it works super fine.I even didn't installed any additional softwares except visual studio 2008 so i wonder what would be the problem.

I hope since you have the model number, no need to list the configurations. What do you all think.what seems to be the problem..? I have recovery disks and used them to restore the system to company state. But then also after some time, problem arises.

    Any help...?

I suspect its Vista trying to optimize itself.

Can you leave the laptop idling over night?

Any updates? If you istal SP1 it'll delete anything Vista previously anrranged...

5 minutes does sound a touch slow...

Have you installed any Windows Updates recently? Sometimes major updates delete restore points, superfetch and prefetch caches, and it takes Vista a while to rebuild those.

Another thing to consider would be to look at your startup programs (step 2 in this thread).

Also, you might have gotten some malware that is using your system's resources. Use Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware to check for infections.

    HI All,

Extremely sorry for the late reply. There are 2 reasons for that.one is i have been out from the home.other one is thanks to JV Powertools 2009 i have solved my problem.

Well yes i have installed latest updates and Automatice updates are always on. I also used MalwareBytes but to be honest i didn't got any considerable result from it.

I was so frustrated about the problem for some time cause nothing had helped me.However one of ma friend who is having the same Laptop as mine did not experienced a problem like mine.

So i asked him about the problem and he said that he is using a registry cleaner called JV Powertools 2009 and it got rid of every problem. So i also try it and results are amazing.

I ran a scan and found 31 errors and i fixed them using their tools.

Then i restarted the Laptop and now it loads very fast (Nearly 25 secs). I think JV Powertools has eliminated the unwanted registry files which effects the unwanted start up operations. It may have removed some malware too.Its been some time i have used it and so far all works super fine.No errors or application conflicts or slow at start up.Love it..!

Thanks for all of your help and really appreciate it.Try it for your laps too and may be help to boost up few seconds of time.thanks for all and i must say that i have learned lot from your replies.cya all in forums.byeee!
