I use Vista Ultimate. Yesterday, I was accessing Service by typing service on the Start Search prompt. When Windows was loading to show Permission window, on my system tray SUDDENLY showed "Windows has changed to Vista Basic".

How can it happen? And how can I turn it back? I have tried to change back to Aero by change it through Personalize and change it back to Aero. When I click Apply then I close the window and open it back, the setting change back to Vista Basic.

    How could it be?

And how to turn it back to Aero? Now I cannot change inter-application by Windows and Tab.

    Thank you.

Screen needs to be in 32 bit colour.
Then run the Windows Experience Index (WinSAT?).
There probably is a way to force Aero on, but I don't know it.

It still 32-bit and the resolution has been the highest.

How to run WinSAT? What is WinSAT?

Right click computer goto properties, Click Windows Experience Index next to rating number, click update my score.

    I hope that works.

So what ELSE did you do while "accessing Service". Give us the complete story and we might be able to help.
