F11 seems to be the button to go into full screen mode. If you mean, automatically open up a shortcut to do that, I'm not sure

Yeah, I know the F11. But I would like to open it in full screen automatically.

A registry tweak is listed on this webpage - I found the registry keys it refers to, but I didn't try the tweak (I ain't a tweaker :D), so I've no idea if it works, or works properly.

For the link-challenged, here's the registry keys to monkey with:
p.s. monkeying with your registry may require a full reinstallation of your OS, so do so at your own risk. ;)

    p.p.s. don't say you weren't warned. ;) ;)

Well, then I'd start with the webpage linked to above, use that as a starting point for suggesting conceptually how the desired change might be made, and then working through it to see if you can find the right registry key.

Did you, by the way, actually find the "fullscreen" key under HKLM/Console, or not? If not, did you try adding it in?

I did go to the website and followed the instructions. I was able to find the proper keys and values in the registry but I it doesn't affect windows explorer, only IE.

Then use that as a jumping off point to either (a) do your own research, or (b) start experimenting.
