    Dell xps 15 9550.

250gb ssd samsung. Have about 30gb free of 232gb.

    i5-6300hq and 8gb ram

I moved some music files from my c drive to my 32gb m.2 ssd that is in my laptop. It currently has 2 hard drives there. That and my main 250gb ssd samsung 2.5 inch.

I went to chrome and clear my entire cache history... and i think it freed up 0.5gb.

Should i remove my entire cookies history? If so, that should free up a lot of space?

Also can i disk optimize? Also i heard that you should never drag an ssd. I have previously defragged this ssd many times a while back ago when i used this ssd in another laptop. But i no longer do this. So do not defrag the ssd right?

What other options are there for me to free up space? The thing is almost all my programs i use such as in my desktop etc... well i use. So i can't remove programs like itunes etc.

    1) never defragment SSDs. only thing u should check regularly is if the SSD is TRIMmed: My Computer, right-click on C:, Properties, go to Tools and Optimization. If not already, set it to do optimizations on a weekly basis

    2) CCleaner for drive cleaning: Download and install latest free version of CCleaner (Lite Version preferred, without bloat), also install latest version of CCEnhancer and run it, then run CCleaner and check all boxes that do not give you a warning message (uncheck those again) --> clean files and registry, debloat autostart, uninstall any unwanted programs and tools u might have

    3) WiseDiskCleaner and WiseRegistryCleaner: Search for and install both, check all boxes in both and run through all their subtools to free up additional drive space.

    4) Last but not least, follow this guide to clean additional system files of windows without risk of system corruption: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/clean-winsxs-folder-to-save-space

All those steps combined should free up a good chunk of bloat that has accumulated on your machine :) Let us know how it goes!

Disable system restore has it uses up GBs of space depending of how many restore points you have.

You can also disable hibernation if you dont use it.

filehippo is actually the official source for ccleaner free edition ;) so no worries! rest of the tools just look up the original author / publishing company and download from their respective homepage :)

Is it fine going directly to

    https://www.ccleaner.com

    To download it?

I want to download every program directly from the site itself because i'm concerned about downloading malware.

Be careful what you download. Majorgeeks is safe CCleaner Portable (Always select portable software if they offer it).

These are good suggestions so far. If you are looking for something a little more involved I would recommend windirstat

I'd suggest using Wise disk cleaner, Dism++, Ccleaner Slim version, TreeSize portable/WinDir sniffer like others mentioned!
Also set Page file to fixed value instead of auto adjust.
