    How to encrypt my usb flash drive?

    Hello!

    I got a sandisk micro skin 8gb,flash drive,and i need now to enkrypt it with a user name or something like that to log in on it to keep all files and documents secure.

    Does anyone know a free software to download to the flash drive.

    I formated the flash cauze the encrypt program didnt work well!

    When i formatted it and plug in it on the laptop it s not appearing and i cannot use it or see it on the computer..

    Pls help,

    You used Truecrypt at first?

    Click on the start button and right click on Computer and select Manage.

    Expand the Storage section and select Disk Management.

    See if your USB shows up there, and do a reformat to NTFS

    Thanks for replying.
    I found it now throw the Disk managment,it was there as a new volume but not shown,I added a F-letter to it and OK it`s done.

    But now to another question: Should I reformat it to NTFS, and what is the point with that .it´s now a FAT32.

    Use NTFS as mentioned above

    If you wanna know why, just google NTFS and FAT32

    You could use PGP encryption or if you wish to purchase a new USB all together you may wish to purchase the IronKey but it is only available within the USA, Canada could be stretching it because the IronKey has export restrictions.
