Hey everyone. I would like to have help on how to downgrade my HP laptop from Vista Premium to XP. If there are any more information, such as the model of the laptop, etc., notify me please. I want to get this done ASAP.

Reason why I'm downgrading is to have my machine boot up faster. Also, I just got it this morning, and I'm already experiencing bug issues and slow-downs.

Give it a chance? The system will actually speed up over a few days as Windows stores your information and caches stuff and what not.....

If the reason to downgrade is because of overall slowness and bug issues, I would suggest you do a clean install of Vista and get all the up to date drivers. I did this right after I got my laptop and it's way faster than before.

I agree about spending a couple weeks with Vista first. I also agree about reinstalling Vista, if you have access to a disc. If not, then remove all the bloatware in Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.

But if you insist on XP, there's a giant sticky thread in the HP forum that will tell you everything you need to know.

I dual boot XP and Vista, and Vista actually boots a few seconds faster for me. I made both setups clean however (unbloated).

Actually, it has been moving smoothly now. I guess I just needed to break it in or something. Thanks. I'll give it a try for a week or two just to see how things are.
