    Hi,

I'm creating an image that will be installed in many of your workstations at school. In the future i would need to update a file or several files in a directory. Right now my 2 options are to open a windows share to it from my pc one computer at a time. Or remote desktop to them.

Is there a faster way to do this using a software?

Have you talked to a computer consultant about this setup? They would be better to serve you here. What your asking is first your system must be in a networking environment so you can image update to every computer that matches the setup. I recall working when working in IT there was a program they used but it required the floppy disk to work that was sometime back but what your asking was something that working in IT was what I did to image updates to all matching computer instead of going from one computer to another. The software we used was called SnapShot I think but was like it took updates from time to time and made working image where you could then from a single command update to those computer in the network that matched to update but this took alot of network bandwidth so there was a limit to how many you could update at a time. Hopefully this will help in what directions to look.

Yes, simple and no third apps required. The SyncToy looks nice too, though.

Resort to a task scheduled robocopy myself for a similar kind of job ('robocopy source destination /MIR'). Could even robocopy the robocopy task; kick off the first that copies the cmd with the robocopy commands inside, which runs 5 minutes or so after the primary. That way it's flexible and you can adjust the folders from the master only, never having to touch the remote clients again.
