I installed the beta service back that puts "Windows vista evaluation copy. build 6001" in the bottom right corner of the desktop.

How do i delete this version so i can install the offical release?

I know its been quite a while since it came out but i never got round to changing it until now

    thanks in advance

I'm sure it's either listed in add/remove programs, or possibly under the Installed Updates section in add/remove programs. I had the service pack beta as well, and I'm positive I uninstalled it from one of those two areas.

Yes , you can uninstall it.
Just make sure that the Add/remove programs has the "show updates" box ticked.
