    How to Get Dock in Desktop? :: Vista Home Premium

    Hi

    Yesterday i got my new desktop Dell Inspiron 530. I was really happy to see Dock on Desktop like Mac. But i did clean install and formated system.

    Now when i installed vista again from same DVD. i cant see DOCK. where to find it? i am sure it is inbuilt in vista but how to get it on my desktop?

    please help me out.

    The Dell dock? You have to download it from Dell's support site. It does not come with Vista.

    thanks for quick help... yeh it is dell dock. but on their website they have 4 MB file which is the update of old version. and i dont know how to find original one.

    actually mine was dell dock only. just now i found on net. but not able to install again.

    As far as I know, that is version 1.0. I do not think there is an older verison.

    yes but i see following error when i try to install it. check attachment.

    Well, I don't Know how that happened because I downloaded and installed it on my laptop and it didn't come with it. I am sure you are happy with rocketdock but did you download it directly from Dell?

    yes happy wid roketdock :)

    but will call up dell support team on monday and ask about this. coz i tried in my laptop and desktop but got same error. yes i downloaded direct from dell website.

    yes i installed in just now... it's good

    I read somewhere that the Dell dock was a licensed knock-off of ObjectDock. If it was the full (i.e.: $20) version of ObjectDock, rather than the free version of ObjectDock it would have more functionality than either of the free docks (RocketDock or ObjectDock). I do not place running programs onto the dock (either of the free versions can do that). But to have tabbed docks, multiple docks, or place most of the system tray icons onto the dock requires the $20 version of ObjectDock. Still, the free RocketDock can easily do this:
