I have heard that you can replace the sound file to have something else play when you turn on your computer. How do you do this?

Go to START - CONTROL PANEL - SOUND - SOUNDS.

Under the WINDOWS section, select WINDOWS LOGON. Here you can change the sound you hear when you log on to Windows. Bear in mind that any file you wish to use must be a .wav file.

Maybe you wish to use an .mp3 sound as your logon. If this is the case, you'll need to convert it to .wav. There are plenty of free, shareware, or trial utilities ot there that will do this for you.

Yeah, but the song, etc will run for only a few seconds....not for the full duration....as compared to the windows logon and logoff sounds....!!
