Is there a way in Windows to "hide" directories from various users? I've figured out how to deny access, but not deny the user's ability to even see the directory?

You could always try using the advanced section of permissions and denying traverse folder and list folder/read data in the root directory. Remember that unless you specify a deny action, Windows will not prohibit anything.

Nope, both are also on deny (everything is on deny in the advanced section), but the user can still see the Directory?

And these settings are applied to the root directory (d:/something/ -> where /something/ contains the directories you don't want seen?)

Put something in a hidden file folder.

Depends what/why you need to hide. Hiding sensitive documents gives you no real security. Please take a look at trucrypt which will give you military grade security, and is just as easy to use as any other mickey-mouse "folder hiding" program.
