I've owned an Asus A8JP since about December, and a few months after my purchase I began having problems when shutting the lid to hibernate, or even just doing a shut down -> hibernate process.

The computer begins to go into hibernation, and will briefly power off, but then half a second later it will exit hibernation, and proceed back to my Windows MCE desktop. I've downloaded a Microsoft patch regarding a hibernation with 1gig RAM problem, but I do not get any errors regarding system memory when this occurs. The only times I seem to be able to successfully hibernate occur when I just restart the computer, and haven't done much work on it. After that it fails to completely hibernate.

I originally thought it may of been a problem with some of Asus's software, such as power4gear, or direct media, but it is still unsuccessful when I'm not running the programs. I'm unsure if its a complication of programs that may be running when I hibernate, but I've closed out of everything to no avail still.

Anyways, looking to see if anyone else has this problem, or knows a possible solution to it.

Do you have any USB devices connected when you do this? What about the BIOS, are any "wake on XYZ" options enabled?

I've got a printer, keyboard, and mouse connected to the USB ports, however I have this same problem when I don't have them plugged in. I could check the BIOS although I have never messed with it, where is that option located?
