    Hi,

I have a Inspiron 700m. Hard disk blew up and I recently replaced it and reinstalled XP from the original Dell CDs and reinstalled all the Drivers as well. Now, the computer will not hibernate or standby. When I go to shut down, the "Hibernate" choice is dimmed. In the power properties, the options for hibernate aren't there.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to reinstall the graphics driver. Try to find the driver for Intel Extreme Graphics on Dell's website, if not, try Intel's site.
