    Hey,

So I normally use the hibernate feature on my notebook, and only shut it down every few days or so. I haven't had any problems until recently. Now, when I restore from hibernation though, the notebook can't find the wireless network and programs won't open. If I try to shut it down, it will never shut down. It just stays on the logging off screen indefinitely.

How can I diagnose what's causing the problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

problems with hibernation are often related to buggy drivers or software that is running in the background.
Perhaps you did a driver or software update recently?

Also, if I remember correctly, newer flavours of Windows create entries in the event log in case there are problems with sleep or hibernation. So, it is worth haveing a look at that.

    Sorry for the long delay.

This has been going on for some time. Is there any way to determine which software/drivers might be causing the issue?

You may check the Event Log (Start->Run->eventvwr.msc). If I remember correctly, then Windows 7 is also logging problems with powermanagement. Perhaps you find entries like:
"yaddayadda.sys prevented Windows from entering hibernation" or something similar.
