    Hello guys,

As described above, I have an issue with jagged/stuttery streams and recordings, encountered with the aforementioned program(s) on an Asus GM501GS-XS74. It's running in Discrete Mode (Optimus disabled via Asus Gaming Center, all drivers up to date). For that reason I cannot test the QuickSync encoder(s) therein.

All the available encoders I select and enable, be it NVENC or x264 produce the same issue, with a warning message from OBS in particular: "Encoding overloaded! Consider turning down video settings or using a faster encoding preset".

The error/issue still persists with all presets in the encoders, in both programs.
The only way I'd be able to stream with no issues is using Geforce experience, but I find it too limited (as I rely heavily on restream.io for simultaneous streaming to multiple services).

Has anyone here encountered this before with high refresh displays?
The workarounds I see online involve either limiting the refresh rate to 60 (which is not acceptable as a compromise) and blaming Windows 10's intrusive DWM. Pretty much a dead end (as downgrading to Windows 7 isn't an option for me).

    Here's an example.

Update: Here's a fix for my issue.
Leaving this here for future reference.
I started with video by NVIDIA on optimal live streaming settings.

    My current settings:
    In the streaming tab:
    Output mode set to Advanced.
Under Output, I set the encoder to NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new), unchecked the "Enforce streaming service encoder settings".
    Rate control: Set to CBR
Bitrate: 6000 (Which is 80% of my upload bandwidth)
    Keyframe interval: 2
    Profile: High
    Lookahead: Unchecked
    Psycho Visual tuning is checked.
    Max B-frames set to 2.

    Under settings > Video:

    Base (Canvas) resolution: 1920x1080
    Output (Scaled) resolution: 1280x720
Downscale filter: Lanczos (Sharpened scaling, 32 samples)
    Common FPS values: 60

So far, no issues detected when using OBS. The notifications on OBS encoder overload are also gone.
