You need the XP SATA drivers. XP cannot see yor hard drive. so find those drivers, put them onto the floppy, and when it boots up tell it to load the drivers off of it before installing. If you have a IDE drive then idk what's wrong, anything i said only applied to SATA drives

Hope i'm right..... yea i'm right.

You are right. It does not recognize the hard drive. I do not know where to find the SATA drivers though. Can anyone help with this?

If you have another computer with XP on it you can take the drivers straight from there (provided it has an SATA drive)

otherwise just google it, if you cannot find it i'll zip mine up and send it to you later today. (when i get home)

provided my piece of crap computer works.

You can always try dual booting it, it makes installing xp easier but there's still the vista partition there. If you choose this way, i can at least point you to the right direction. (The instruction is kinda long)

had the same problem as you. I really hate vista coz of that.
