    Hey All,
    I need your help. Please. I am Running VISTA Premium and It has Internet Explorer 7 on it. I have an issue with websights and the "Flash Player"

    Everytime I go to certain websights....Youtube.com, hgtv.com, fox61.com for instance, I get messages that say "Can't see the HGTV menu? Download AdobeĀ® Flash Player now for free to view this content."
    So I click the link, download Flash player, It says "When its installed successfully you will see the flash animation above" Which I do.

    I close IE 7 and go to the three different websights, Still nothing...

    I checked all my Internet Explorer settings. There all on default. I visited a couple of websights and changed settings: Tools, Internet options, Advance tab, played with the "Browsing", "Multimedia" "Active X Controll's" etc.
    STILL NOTHING.
    I also went to Adobe's websight for info but it gives no help.

    I reset everything back to default, STILL NOTHING. I tried calling Vista Tech support b/c It comes with it for a while, they were idiots and had no clue. I seem to know more then them.

    I have Windows Defender Turned on, Pop Up Blocker Turned Off. I am also running Windows Live OneCare. Which has a firewall also....which in-turn, turns off VISTA's firewall so they don't clash. BUT I dont think thats the issue because I downloaded Mozilla FireFox and I can use it with no Problem to access all the websight's I want with no issue's. Why not use that you say, that's not the point :) I like IE 7, and want to figure this out. If anyone out there can help me I would appreciate it.
    -Kevin

    It sounds like the plug-in is not installing into IE7's folder. This could be your problem. Go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS (should be called that...) and see what's in there and let us know.

    Guys I answered my own question. But keep this post in case anyone needs help in the future.

    Problem: Missing registry item {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}

    Go to this site http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

    Download the Windows Flash Player 9 Active X Control Content Debugger (for IE) (EXE, 1.22 MB) run the installation & it will put this missing registry item in.

    Then the YouTube videos should work with IE7

    NOTE: When I ran the installation I ran into an error but I chose to ignore it and let it run anyway. Also if you run a registry cleaner program make sure you exclude (so it does not strip this reference) {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000} otherwise you will have to re-install the above or manually put them back in.

    I also went to Internet Options, Security tab, then click Custom level. Scroll down until you see where it says "Display video and animation on a web page that does not use external media player." Change it to Enable.

    And its working perfectly Fine.
