When i delete an item my recycle bin doesn't show it has "papers" in it unless i ether move the dock to another location, or close and reopen it. also when i delete an item it still locks like it has trash in it unless i again move it or close and reopen.
Is this normal or may i have done something to make it do this.

I recommend just leave it for a few days, disabling indexing, swapping out your antivirus from some light ones (Avast per example), disabling also unwanted startup processes and services.

It is just a "refreshing" issue at the moment.

    cheers ...

one question I have, I didn't like the dell dock and removed it. When it asked if I wanted shortcuts of the icons I clicked no not realizing that the garbage can would go too. Anyway to get it back?

I have not used the Dell dock, but I hear that it is the same code base as ObjectDock, so any set of icons for ObjectDock or RocketDock should also work in the Dell dock.

The Recycle Bin is a special dock item that has a pair of icons: Full and Empty. You should be able to find quite a few of these on the internet; perhaps even a few you like.

If you simply want to restore the Recycle Bin to the desktop, not to a dock, try this.
